Holywell Hill

This project posed a unique challenge as we undertook the restoration of a Grade II listed building from an almost derelict building, former restaurant and accommodation, into a state-of-the-art office and a two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment in the heart of St Albans.

Working in collaboration with the Planning Conservation Officer, we preserved and enhanced the building’s stunning heritage, including the use of original Tudor ship timbers. The interiors combined contemporary design with respect for the building's traditional character, while the exterior, with its private enclosed patio, became a lovely place to sit and relax.

​

We thoroughly enjoyed working from this office ourselves for a while, located in the centre of St Albans. Though we still own the building, it has now been leased to new occupants who are able to enjoy this beautifully restored space.
